Matte-Maker 36-grit Kit

I've created simple hand-working kit for glass fusers who need a matte surface on their glass but don't own a sandblaster and would prefer not to use harsh chemicals.   This 36-grit kit is best for those using chalks or thicker paints because the roughter matte surface has more "teeth" to grab and hold material.  Included in the kit: 1) A 1-lb. jar of graded, 36-grit Silicon Carbide abrasive; 2) An 18 x 12" rubber pad that's 40ml thick to work on; 3) A spatula for mixing, moving, and cleanup of the grit; and 4) Three pair of protective gloves. You add: 1) a little water; 2) Your protective respirator mask; 3) Two pieces of glass that you want to make matte; 4) A cleanup bucket and 5) Elbow grease. Pour about a 1/4-inch layer of grit on one glass surface, add water to make a paste, layer over your top piece and rub it around for 10-15 minutes, you'll have a finished matte piece, ready to paint. Detailed instructions and a demo are shown in our video: How to Make Your Own Matte Surfaces on Glass for Fusing.
